About Me

My name is Jon Oransky, I’ve lived on Long Island my entire life. I currently work for the family business doing IT (I’m the computer guy). I have been married since 2001 and our son was born in 2003.

Around 2008 I got my first iPhone (2nd generation) and I have had every one since then. In the beginning of 2011 I wanted to start making my own apps. So i got an Objective-C book and between that and google, i wrote my first app, Multipli. Shortly after I released that I started the company Awesome Apps with my friend Carmine. We made 6 or so apps together and are still going strong. Last week (October 2012) I released my first game called iLearn Math.

So now it’s September 2014, iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 were just released. I purchased an iPhone 6 (4.7″) 64gb Space Grey and I really like it so far. I have been working on (just started) a new app but I have no idea when it will be finished. I messed around with Swift a bit and even released a tutorial on here called “Accelerometer, Sprite Kit, and Swift“, check it out if you haven’t already!
